Ted Baker Lip Crayons: Review

04:38

I adore Ted Baker, I really do. But I have to admit that until Christmas I was entirely unaware that they did makeup. I was sceptical about these lip crayons because I thought Ted Baker's speciality is fashion, will their beauty match up to the great quality of their fashion lines? Well it certainly gives it a run for it's money! I'm going to discuss the lip crayons separately as I prefer some of them to others. So I don't think it's fair to do one big, general rating.

The crayons don't have their own specific shades (eg. bubblegum or whatever) so I'll just describe each crayon above it's picture.

This crayon is a lovely shade of pink. I'm not as fond of the two pinks though as they don't really stay on my lips very well. They are a nice colour. But, when I apply them they come out quite thin. It takes a few strokes to create a deep colour.

(Excuse the freckles, I wasn't wearing foundation for these pictures).

This is the second shade of pink. The packaging in the photo looks more pink that is actually is. It is more of a peachy pink. I preferred this one as it was warmer and suited my (fair) skin tone better. However, again I didn't love how thin it applied. It rubbed off quickly so I wouldn't recommend it unless you have it handy to keep applying.

I LOVE THIS ONE. Now, this crayon is where things get good. I absolutely adore this crayon and as you can see from the photo at the bottom it is definitely the crayon I've used the most. It is a gorgeous deep plum colour. If it had a name it would probably be Black Cherry or something like that. This shade was massively in last winter and I really hope it makes a reappearance this winter. I lived in it. It's perfect for creating a vampy look for a night out, or romantic dinner. This crayon also stayed on my lips much longer than the others. It also applied really nicely, it wasn't too thin like the previous two crayons.

Finally, a lovely rich red colour. I sit on the fence with this crayon. It isn't amazing but it isn't awful either. I don't love it. But, I do like it. It creates a nice rosy red colour which was lovely in the winter. With one stroke on my lips it created a lovely, rich red shade.

  1. I think I'd prefer the 'second shade of pink' because its what I usually go for and if I wore it now I know it wouldn't look bad on me! :) I have a red Rimmel London one its great! And who would have known Ted Baker did make-up too!

    1. They really are! Yes it's a great selection. In a sense you've got two more natural colours - for the day. And two more striking colours - for the night. It's a winning combo!
