Polka Dot Nails Tutorial

03:12

I wanted my first post to be interesting and a little different, so I have decided to write a tutorial. In this post I will demonstrate how to create cute polka dot nails / toadstool nails. I am in no way a nail expert! But, this is a super easy, sweet style that is perfect for Spring/Summer.

What You Will Need:
-Clear Nail Varnish
-White Nail Varnish (For the spots)
-Coral/Red Nail Varnish
-A Paperclip (you'll need to unfold it)
-Determination! Haha I'm kidding, it's easy, honest!

1. Apply your clear nail varnish as a base. I am using Sally Hansen Nail Growth Miracle. It's amazing, I love it. I truly believe that it does help my nails grow!

2. Apply your red nail varnish. I am using Barry M Gelly Hi Shine in 317, Passion Fruit. It is a lovely coral/red colour. However, you can use any colour of your choice here. If you want blue as your base colour with polka dots that's cool! It's entirely up to you!

3. Take your paperclip and unfold the end like so.

4. Dip the end of your paperclip into the white nail varnish.

5. Now carefully tap the end of the paperclip onto your nails to create the spot effect. The lighter you press the smaller the spot. I have quite small nails (I have really tiny hands, thanks genetics) so I just gently tapped the paperclip onto my nail to create small spots. You could press harder and put a thicker layer of nail varnish onto the paperclip if you wanted bigger spots. You will have to keep dipping the paperclip into the white nail varnish to ensure you have enough varnish on it to create the spots.

6. Do this on every nail and ta-da! You have some super cute nails!
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial! :)
